Everything you need to know about the 2020 Census

Make Sweetwater count in the 2020 Census! According to recent data, our City has a response rate of 60.6 percent. Taking the 2020 Census helps build a better future for our community. The census count determines how much money the City gets to support education, healthcare, housing, infrastructure, parks, schools, and programs like Medicaid, SNAP, Pell Grants, and many more.

 

Taking the Census is safe and confidential

By law, the U.S. Census Bureau cannot release any identifiable information about individuals, households or businesses – not even to law enforcement, federal agencies or the President!

The information you provide on the census cannot be seen or used by any other government agencies or courts.

U.S. Census Bureau employees take an oath to protect your personal information and any violation comes with a penalty of up to $250,000 and/or up to 5 years in prison.

 

Taking the Census is fast and simple

For your convenience, you can complete the Census online, via phone or U.S. mail in any language you prefer. You can take it in less than 10 minutes.

 

If you don’t have internet access at home, you can use your smartphone to complete the census.
