LA LIGA CONTRA EL CANCER
FREE MAMMOGRAM SERVICES
(Sweetwater) – The League Against Cancer is celebrating 47 years of serving as a treatment facility for individuals diagnosed with cancer undergoing financial hardships. To honor this momentous achievement, Mayor Orlando Lopez and the City of Sweetwater have partnered with the League against Cancer to offer free mammogram services for women 40 to 60 years old with no insurance and low income. The mobile mammogram unit pop-up event will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Ronselli Park, 250 SW 114th Avenue, Sweetwater, FL, 33174.
The League Against Cancer has served over 70,000 patients since its foundation in 1975, providing screenings, radiation therapy, medications, support, and much more at no cost to the individual. Here at Sweetwater, we have joined their mission to help mitigate breast cancer by hosting the Florida Mobile Mammography Unit. Mammograms are one of the best screening tools for early detection, increasing breast cancer survival rate by 96%.
We encourage women in our community to take advantage of this excellent opportunity by registering to make an appointment before September 17th. You can schedule an appointment by calling (305)-856-4914 or (305)-856-8366.
