Housing Assistance for residents

In response to the economic hardships caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). On July 9th, 2020, the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved $10 million of CARES Act funds to develop a Residential Landlord and Tenant Assistance Program to support small landlords with five or fewer rental units by providing grants for rent forgiveness for tenants who are behind on rent due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

On July 16th, 2020, Commissioner Diaz and the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners approved an additional $15 million of CARES Act funds to provide Housing and Basic Needs assistance to veterans and active-duty military members. This includes support for rent, mortgage, and basic needs such as groceries. These programs can be accessed through the link below.
