New Pilot Program will allow food stamp
recipients to make online purchases

The Florida Department of Children and Families announced Florida will pilot a program for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients to purchase groceries online with the use of an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.

Starting Tuesday, April 21, Walmart and Amazon online purchasing with an EBT card will be available statewide. This new pilot program comes at a critical time where social distancing is vital for preventing the spread of coronavirus.

DCF is working with the USDA and the Florida Retail Federation to expand the network of retailers who participate in the pilot program. The use of EBT online purchasing benefits remains limited to the purchasing of eligible items and can’t be used to pay for delivery service fees.
